what is music therapy?
Music therapy is the use of music, by an accredited
music therapist to address non-musical goals in the following areas of
development:
§ Social
§ Cognitive
§ Communication
§ Physical
§ Emotional
Music Therapists hold a degree in music therapy (BMT
or MMT) and use the title Music Therapist Accredited (MTA) through the Canadian

why does music work?
Processing music activates, stimulates and uses the
whole brain.
Music releases dopamine (the feel good chemical) which
is released when we do pleasurable things like eat, fall in love, gamble.

§ Think about what you are wanting to work on/accomplish! Be intentional
about the music.
